MimioStudio Recorder Error "Error removing previously recorded video. Make sure that the video is not opened in another application." When trying to use application.

If you encounter the following error when trying to start a MimioStudio Recorder session.

"Error removing previously recorded video. Make sure that the video is not opened in another application."

MimioStudio Recorder will not work if a Microphone is not plugged into the computer's Mic Input or a Microphone is not detected. You can verify your microphone is plugged into the correct port by visually checking the mic is plugged into the red or pink audio jack on the pc. Below is a photo for reference.

If using a microphone while using MimioStudio Recorder is NOT desired you will need to change the following setting: Go into MimioStudio Settings > Recorder > Audio Quality > Change to “No Audio”.

Also, check to make sure .avi files are opened with the default program of windows media player. This can be changed by saving the video to the desired location. Locate the file in the folder where it was saved. Right click the file click "open with" => "choose another app" => "windows media player" => "always use this app to open .avi files.
