MimioStudio 12.4.2 Importing PDF's and Windows Updates

We have received reports from customers that the Mimio Print Capture Driver (importing into MimioStuido function) is only importing the first page correctly and subsequent pages are being imported blank or distorted. Because this feature utilizes a windows print driver to convert and import the file this feature is also affected. Boxlight is aware of the issue and is working on a fix for this feature but does not have a roll out date as of yet.

The cause of this is due to the Microsoft cumulative update released on 03/09/2021 that broke printing for many printer drivers due to security updates to the Print Spooler. Microsoft has acknowledged the problem and issued a fix. However, this fix does not address the issue with the MimioStudio Import function.

Workaround:

A current solution is to remove the following windows cumulative updates until this can be addressed within MimioStudio software:

KB:5000802, KB:5000808, KB:5000809, KB:5000822, KB:5000848

This can be done by navigating to the following:

Start => Settings => Update and Security => View Update History => Uninstall Updates

If you have any additional questions or would like assistants with the workaround please contact us. We will also be updating this article for any updates to the MimioStudio Software that addresses this issue.
